      <image:title>Philosophy Clubs - Philosophy Clubs</image:title>
<image:caption>At a philosophy club, you will discuss some of life’s Big Questions (which ones are up to you!) with your peers in a conversation guided by someone trained in philosophy. A philosophy club typically meets once a week, or once every other week; for every meeting, there is usually some small reading assignment (picked in collaboration with the facilitator) together with a guiding question. (Looking for a club with no reading? We can also do that!) Adventures in Thinking facilitates two kinds of philosophy clubs: virtual philosophy clubs and school-based philosophy clubs (see below).</image:caption>

      <image:title>Philosophy Clubs - Virtual Philosophy Clubs</image:title>
<image:caption>Virtual philosophy clubs are held on Zoom with high school students from around the country. To join (or start) a virtual philosophy club with us, all you have to do is fill out a short form where you describe the questions you are most interested in and when you are available to meet; we’ll connect you with a group of similarly interested high school students and one of our facilitators. If this sounds interesting to you, simply email us.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Philosophy Clubs - School Philosophy Clubs</image:title>
<image:caption>Adventures in Thinking is happy to facilitate a school-based philosophy club with other students at your school. (At the moment, this service is only available for Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, and Providence area schools.) If you are interested in starting an in-person club, reach out to an interested teacher at your school and have them contact us. We are happy to provide on-site facilitators before, during, and after school. If you would like assistance in reaching out to a teacher, if you are a teacher who wants to reach out to us, or if you are curious but not sure you want to start such a club at your school, we’re happy to meet with you to discuss! Email us.</image:caption>

<image:title>Philosophy in the Classroom - Where philosophy fits into the current curriculum.</image:title>
<image:caption>History: How did the ideas of the Enlightenment affect the French Revolution? How did Marx’s ideas affect the Soviet Revolution? Literature: Most major playwrights, novelists, and poets were influenced by at least one philosopher. And what exactly is a tragedy? Government: What is a legitimate government? The US Founders were profoundly influenced by the social contract tradition - but just what did the philosophers in that tradition believe? Debate: Most formats of debate involve explicitly citing the ideas of philosophers. We are certain there are still more ways to incorporate philosophy into your classes, and we welcome any other suggestions!</image:caption>

<image:title>Philosophy in the Classroom - What we are offering.</image:title>
<image:caption>Adventures in Thinking is happy to: (1) Help you design the lesson plans that involve philosophy and get you to the point where you feel comfortable teaching the material on your own. (2) Co-teach the philosophical portions of the class with you. (3) Decrease your workload by teaching the philosophical portions of your class ourselves. We are happy to do whatever works best for you and your students!</image:caption>
